time in a bottle

it sounds so cliche', but if i could capture time in a bottle to keep memories and thoughts alive in their own moments, i would. daily, i see things in my kids and in myself that seem to develop overnight! change happens so quickly and i long for days of the past where life seemed slower; easier... yet, stopping time means we never experience the wonderful growth that allows us to continually develop into who God wants us to be. in that respect, i want to see what the future holds for me and for my children. if i could save time in a bottle, then i would be able to go back and appreciate the times that helped bring me to today while also being able to enjoy things i took for granted or didn't realize until later. since i cannot fulfill that wish, i must find other ways to capture the moments and reflect on them with my family. busy calendars and tight schedules cannot take over and keep us from enjoying the little moments... they will one day become big events of the past and we will wish longingly that we had captured them when we had the chance.
